Broward County Public Schools is the sixth largest public school system in the country.  There are 255,738 students in 284 schools.  With a 138 Elementary Schools, 43 Middle Schools, 33 High Schools, 16 Adult/Vocational Schools, 16 Centers and 56 Charter Schools.

There are over 2,000 students in the Broward County Public School District that have autism.  If the classroom teacher is not meeting the student’s needs, there are additional support services which may be provided.  Such as, The Exceptional Education Specialist, Speech Language Pathologist, reading coach, guidance counselors, family counselors, autism coach, area and district program staff, occupational therapist, teacher of behavioral support and others.
